Maritime Services Directory
An information service for the African maritime transport industry
What is the maritime industry?
The maritime industry is one of the most dynamic and important economic activities of the modern world – according to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), approximately 90% of all global trade is carried by sea. Worldwide shipping underpins the world economy as the most efficient, safe and environmentally friendly method of transporting goods around the globe.
But the maritime industry encompasses an even wider range of the global economy, involving landbased transport logistics and related services from road and rail freight to warehousing and terminal operations along with all the many necessary support functions.
In the following Directory every effort has been made to cover all these functions and to assist the searcher in finding the category listing required, including the use of alternate descriptions. A search engine facility is included to assist in this function. If you think we have missed something or could describe it better, please tell us.
Using the Directory
For ease of reference the Maritime Services Directory has been divided into main categories and sub-categories. To open and view the sub categories click on the sign on the left of each main category heading - this will cause the sub-categories to drop down into view. You can also use the search engine to go directly to the required sub-category or service provider. Similarly you can search for service providers by port or main city.
If you would like a free listing please contact info@ports.co.za with your company details. This entitles you to a free entry with name and contact number.
There are other more detailed options available for Premium Listings and Profile Listings. Owners of Premium and Profile listings can describe their business with all necessary contact information and show the company logo. They can also edit their own details using a simple password protected process and be able to upload a Google Earth Placemark of their location (restricted to city/area at this stage).
When finished with the Directory use the main Menu Bar on the right of your screen to return to PORTS & SHIPS.
The information recorded in this directory has been accepted and placed on the Internet by Ports & Ships acting in good faith. Ports & Ships accepts no responsibility for false information or inaccuracies leading to loss or damage.
